*If Your Website's Full of Assholes, It's Your Fault. Great, and extremely obvious, advice about the fact that no really, you shouldn't be tolerating a community full of abuse, spam, and shitheads. Fix that shit.
*I Was a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Cute piece about the differences between being a supporting character in someone else's story, and the star of your own.
*I wound up on a very mini Captain Awkward binge (someday it will suck me in hard and I'll read the entire damn blog), which led me to this one: How Do I Start to Date?. The part that blew my mind runs thus:
That...that is a very good piece of advice. It is no-nonsense, which I appreciate, and it brings up the very good idea of "well, if you can't make that dream what will you spend the time on otherwise"?.
More later, perhaps. I have consistent internet again, I am going to see what I can do about using that productively.

Maybe no one will ever love you or desire you. Maybe that’s not going to happen for you.
(Probably it will! But maybe not).
If you knew that was a real possibility, what would you do with your life to make it as awesome and happy and fulfilling as possible? What kind of time would you invest into your friendships, family, community? What hobbies and activities would you pursue to make yourself feel more connected and less lonely? What kind of care would you take with yourself in terms of exercise and eating good food and reading good books and constantly learning and growing and making yourself interesting and happy? How would you go after your dreams? How would you approach your career and work to become truly great at something?
That...that is a very good piece of advice. It is no-nonsense, which I appreciate, and it brings up the very good idea of "well, if you can't make that dream what will you spend the time on otherwise"?.
