May. 15th, 2010 02:05 pmSo, it's officially Nomad Summer, my name for this gallivanting and couch-surfing I plan to do over the next many weeks. I did find a place to sleep last night, I have no idea where I'm sleeping tonight --the person I need to contact regarding such things is not yet online, alas!
I am still alive, and having sold books and babysat, actually have enough money for food over the next until I leave Boston. I'm quite fond of this fact, enjoying having the ability to eat and all. Last night I wound up in a delightful pile of people for sleep, then left in the morning to go babysit. A quick stop at Diesel for breakfast (bagel, yum) and then I found myself suddenly in charge of four rambunctious under-sixers.
You wanna know a fun creative challenge? Weave together four different stories from four different enthusiastic and clever children. I think I described my morning as involving "a swingset, princess (of male *and* female varieties), pirates, dinosaurs, cars, spaceships, moray eels, omelette pie, dragons, magic, death, superheroes, being pushed down slides, and big monsters". And I'm honestly probably forgetting something, but yes. It was fun!
Now I am sitting on the floor in Porter Exchange, internetting a bit. I really ought to walk over to the library so that I can return the last books I need to --one of mine and one of Maddie's. Plus, they probably have comfier chairs.
In bad news, I have seem to have busted my camera, because I'm pretty much a clumsy moron, and I'm not sure it's actually possible anymore for me to own a camera for longer than a year. _sigh_. If I'm lucky, I've just busted the screen (what I think might've happened), and then I'll still be able to take pictures, although it might be a bit of a pain in the ass, what with actually looking through the viewfinder all the time. Could be worse, last camera didn't even have a viewfinder, so yeah.
I do continue to be the place cameras go to die though. :(
Catch you darlinks later. Bye!
