Two updates on two things:
Apr. 17th, 2010 02:46 amThing one, Day of Silence: I determined to participate, at least in part because that meant LEAP1 gave me a cupcake.
I'm a college kid, okay? Free cupcakes are a pretty big deal.
I have more thoughts for later, perhaps, but it did wind up mattering --I ran into Emily, and as I hugged her, I gave her a secret family way of saying "I love you" that I have taught to only a very few people. It was humbling to not be able to say the words, and I'm sure it'd be even worse if I meant them romantically and not just platonically, and was unable to speak such a sentiment.
Thing two, drawings. I asked specifically because Maddie had Erin and Sparr do just that task --draw two people doing something-- for a class of hers. Each drew two people, flying a kite, with a backdrop of a hill and a tree.
Being as they were seated at opposite ends of the room, and did not see each other's pictures or talk about what was going on or anything, this was pretty freaky. I wanted to see if the spring air was pervasive enough to make you guys want to draw kites as well.
It wasn't --of about twenty comments I got no common threads, except for people saying "haha, sex of course because this is screened!". (And even the sex got different --"stick figure 69" is not at all the same as "two of the kids from "Family Circus" double ending a ghostly figure labeled "Something"")
So yeah, that was that.
And now I'm going to sleep so I can babysit in seven and a half hours. Blurg, someone did not plan very well (me). I hate being sick.
