Tonight I made bacon-chocolate chip cookies. This is not a tradition, but it was fun.

Then Dad read us The Night Before Christmas, and we hung our stockings by the TV with care (in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon will be there!) and left out some cookies and a beer for santa.

I love my family dearly, and our Christmas traditions just as muchso. Tomorrow morning, at precisely whichever hour we are allowed to do such things, us kids will scurry downstairs, squee gleefully at the stockings, and haul them all upstairs to mom and dad's waterbed, where the five of us will sit and open stockings and bounce and glee.

Then we will go downstairs and mom and da and probably me will make breakfast, and we will serve it and watch Alys drama out about "OH NOES I MUST EAT THE GRAPEFRUIT HALF IT IS DISGUSTING" while also making a big deal about how she's not being dramatic this year DO YOU SEE HOW UNDRAMATIC I AM PAY ATTENTION!

After everyone has eaten all their breakfast (Eggs! Bacon! Hashbrowns! GRAPEFRUIT!) we begin the rounds of wretched excess. Then playing with toys and relaxing, then mom's sister and parents et al coming over, then Christmas dinner and wretched excess round two and naps.

In between, I will do my damndest to call some people who are important to me, and maybe wander on here once or twice.

In the meantime, have a good night. I'm off to bed soon --after all, there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas. (for all you non-Christians who've no idea when it is)
