sorcyress: Drawing of me as a pirate, standing in front of the Boston Citgo sign (Be Happy Elephant)
So, sometime last year, I mentioned 'The Pirates Mixed Up Voyage', in passing. I do that a lot in this journal, and I pretty much inevitably also mention that that specific novel is my favourite children's book there ever was, and one of my stronger security blankets.

(Most recently read? My copy is unmarked, one spare is marked 31/Mar, the other spare is marked 8/Sep. There are not a lot of books I can read more than once in a six month span)

About a week or so after this mention, I received one of the greatest gifts in the mail, ever, to wit, a second copy. Lovely bit of anonymous conversation with the sender, them teasing me with their identity, but also mentioning that they weren't really all that concerned about me figuring them out.

A random suspicion of "Oh, this is the sort of sweet thing that that person would do for me", I checked the IP address, and began to click through random entries, looking for a comment by the person I suspected. Almost immediately, I spotted the address associated with someone entirely different, and totally awesome.

Soyeah. Formal thank you, now that I know1 who you are. And ee.

"You need kissing badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how."

When looking for things that I may have once posted, I often get distracted by other comments, other posts. I'm a terribly vain writer --I so love reading over my old stuff, even when it's crap.

And, of course, I like reading what you guys have to say to me, as well.

In this particular case, it was a line from Kyu, in response to the query "Improve me" --and no, I'm not sure what I exactly I was thinking then either. It was a meme or something. It's apparently also a quote from Gone With the Wind. Regardless, it scans right, it feels right.

And being as I have, in the more than two years since, been kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how, I feel I've got a different sort of perspective on it. Not necessarily better, but certainly different. In summation, kissing is fun, for me. YMMV.

I have no idea where I'm going with this post. There is something there, just beyond my reach. Damnit.

Have the lyrics to a song I wrote. If I get unlazy, or someone harasses me, I'll record myself singing it and put it up on youtube to maximize the force of my suck.

The song is called 'Missing Five AM', and sounds just a little bit like 'Love it when you Call' )

I'm going to sleep now, because I need to.

Because Eric made the mistake of actually expressing an interest, I've gone ahead and recorded a copy of the song I posted the lyrics to yesterday.
