...Gyuh?

'kay, see, I'm pretty much used to getting random anonymous comments on ocassion, and I really appreciate it when I can figure out who they're from.

It's almost kinda spooky when I get anonymous comments on one of the denizens accounts though. I'm glad that you people stalk me well enough to know that. Glad and a little spooked.

(This particular comment was written well enough that I'm ninety-three percent certain of who posted it. And, I mean, I've got all the denizen journals linked in my userinfo. But still!)

***

Thought process: "Yay, first 'actually going to a school and observing!' thing is on Thursday! That's so cool! Oo, sheet that tells me where! Blabla, somewhere in Medford somewhere (I should visit Jarne afterwards), blabla...wait.

"Leave Lesley: 6:45 AM"
...
*begins laughing in a somewhat hysterical manner.*

Fuck, that's awesome. No brain, I shouldn't just not sleep. I used to be able to get up by six, 'member?

***

Urban Dictionary word of the day: Choreplay.
When a woman is turned on by the sight of her husband/boyfriend/partner doing regular household chores, that she would normally be doing.

"Last night, it was all about choreplay. I was all 'OH YEAH, fold that laundry. Oh yes, just like that! In half and, then in half again. OHHH'"

Bahahahahaha. I love my e-mail.

***

...Oh. Except that e-mail also informs me of depressing things. *le sigh*

***

Heroes continues to be awesome. I'm...five? Five episodes in. And Hiro is SO CUTE, I WANT ONE! Also, Talia ruined me for the Petrellis, etc, Niki is my favourite character and I don't know why (Peter is pretty awesomegroovy too), the psychic thing in bed would probably be more weird if one of the first sex scenes* I ever read hadn't involved reading minds, Claire makes me want to scoop her up and protect her, which is weird as those instincts are usually tuned to the slightly socially awkward geek-boys I'm friends with, Nathan is an asshole, but he was nice to Hiro, so that's okay, Hiro is hella adorable (Seriously, just go watch this show to see him, it's worth it) annnnd yeah. Oh, and Mohinder has a gorgeous voice.

Also, Hyde is amused by my interest in Niki. He says he likes her too, but I get the sense that his motives are slightly less than pure. (I also get the sense that he actually likes Jessica, and doesn't realize it yet.)

***

So, for the last five weeks that I've been in Boston (three before break, two after), I've been going to Scottish Country Dance, and learning how to dance and stuff.

Ignoring all the obvious appeal of joining a dance group where there are at least four guys in kilts at any given point (Glee!), it is hella-fun. The group is terribly friendly, and it's all fairly casual, meaning that if I mess up, someone will just point me back in the right direction.

(And I'm starting to actually get good enough that I don't mess up so much. And that I can recognize the terms (Reeling = fun, hello-goodbye setting = haaaaaaate (I am total rubbish at setting, still)) And glee! Plus, Meyer, who's one of the guys who clearly knows what he's doing, told me last night that I'm getting better *bounces!*

It does ocassionally make my brain go "gyuh" whenever I re-realize that I'm the youngest person there by about ten or twelve years at any given point. *sighs* Well, given the choice between this and random clubbing, I find this infinitely more appealing, and, well, yeah. I'm sure eventually my peer group will catch up with me, and I'll start getting on better with people my own age, but that doesn't much seem to have occured yet.

(On a similar note, going to Vericon last weekend was a little bit boggling just because everyone was, say, five years older than me instead of the fifteen or twenty I'm used to at cons. It's kinda nice to realize that I'm not the only freak. *smiles*)

***

I think that's everything for now. Goals for today: Kinda the same as they've been for the last week --unpack, clean my dorm, and do homework. Oh, and to write more Arisia reports.

Oh, and listen to really loud music. Yep! *bounces along to 'DNA' by JoCo, since that's what happens to be on.* Ta!

Choreplay is like Foreploy: telling lies in order to get some. ;)

Would Choreplay foreploy be saying "sure, I cleaned the garage?"

*giggles!*

I've never used it for sex, but I have definently lied (well, exaggerated) about how done I was with chores in order to go hang with friends. (Sure mom! My room is definently clean! No, really!!)

I haven't intentionally lied about housework for sex either, but I have promised to do a task that [livejournal.com profile] dabunny was intending to do in order to get him to stop doing it and make out. ("You don't need to do the laundry. I'll take care of it later. C'mere.") And then forgotten to actually do said task.

Hee! Yeah, that's one of those things where you really have to get the things done before you start the making outs, because you will never get it done if you try and postpone it until after.

But making out is fun, so I can't really fault you there.

Bytheway, we should hang out sometime.

Your favorite character is Niki? That's...unique! (I've grown more sympathetic towards her, but I used to think she was kind of a waste of space. And I never really liked her, even after I mostly got over that.) I am, however, thoroughly amused that I managed to ruin the Petrellis for you; it is, after all, what I do. But Nathan is not an asshole. Well. Nathan is not an unsympathetic asshole. And he gets better, I promise. He's pretty spectacularly assholish for the first nine episodes, and then you suddenly start to realize, hey, whoa, he actually cares. I, of course, knew this all along, but not everyone is lucky enough to be me.

But even if you don't believe me after that, boy howdy, just wait 'til the finale. *cackles*

I have no idea why she's my favourite character, I really don't. (And by favourite, I do mean after Hiro, because my love for Hiro is intense)

I think a lot of it is that I can understand her motivations extremely well --she is just trying to do the best she can for Micah (first) and herself (second). Good mothers make me happy.

Also, I'm a huge fan of Jekyll/Hyde stories.

...Man, this is the sort of thing that I can't keep thinking about, because I won't be able to figure out why I like her, and then I'll stop liking her so much. I do think most of it is the mom thing.

(I like Claire a lot too, especially as she DROVE A CAR INTO A WALL to get back at a rapist. WIN AND LOVE, CLAIRE, WIN AND LOVE!)

And I'm sure Nathan gets better, indeed, he's already gotten slightly less assholeish. Also, someone in casting did a exceptional job, since there was definitely at least one moment recently where I saw Peter, just in his mannerisms and eyes.

And it's true about Nathan. i started off hating his freaking guts but i changed my tune by the second season. You'll see why. (And the beard is not the only reason! *shakes furry fist*)

And for obvious reasons Peter & Hiro are my favorites, although i do find Mohinder adorable in spite of some of his cluelessnesses. ;)

Eden. i like Eden too. *shuts up for now*

. o O (also, since Talia is the one what turned me onto slash in the first place i can hardly complain about her ruining the Petrellis for me... or can i? heh)

Oh HEY... Harena!

Completely having nothing to do with this thread... it seems to me that they should be selling girl scout cookies in your area around now and I WANT to try the new 100 calorie pack cookies.... could you let me know if you're likely to bump into some girl scouts? If not, I'll try and look up your council again and see if I can find a way to send a girl scout to you *grin* Or at least find out what stores they'll be parked in front of so that you can go buy me some.

Howls....

Try being 4-5 years OLDER than the other people at the con. (I was at Genericon this weekend)

First college con I've been to where I actually thought the attendees (and most of the con-com) looked "so young!"...

I'm sort of worried about KatsuCon now... Anime cons tend to skew REALLY young.

Gyuh. It'll happen to me eventually, I suspect. I honestly don't know which is more difficult to deal with --I think probably being among people younger than you would probably feel somewhat more awkward. Dunno.

Eh, you will go and be pretty and be a good lackey and all the tiny otaku will buy things.

No, you so won't. As long as it's not a college based con, you should fit right in, agewise.

It does ocassionally make my brain go "gyuh" whenever I re-realize that I'm the youngest person there by about ten or twelve years at any given point.

You're not. I can think of three people I know are fewer than twelve years older than you (one I know is fewer than ten, too), and a few others I suspect it of.

That group is actually remarkable in how young it is, though. I have often been to dance events where I was the youngest person by ten or twelve years. The hope is that encouraging more and more younger people to come to these things will help over time.

somewhere in Medford somewhere (I should visit Jarne afterwards)

Jarne, you're in Medford? You should join us for SCD sometime.

Gleee!!

Mercedes Lackey was my intro to fantasy, and where I stole a good deal of my ideas from (I've gotten better.) I heart her to bits and pieces, and By The Sword is one of my most read books, ever.

SCD is totally fun, even if I haven't been doing it for very long. If you're in Bostonarea, you should come check it out.
