sorcyressTo my post listing "types" from the other day, I need to add "linguists" and you can make all the rude jokes about cunning ones that you want, because it really just boils down to me being _fascinated_ by how many people I know who are super into this field that I did not know existed until like post-college.
I mean, to be fair, of my four partners, only one of them is ~officially~ a Linguist. Just...another works as an editor for a linguistics press and a third does conlangs as their major hobby. My last partner is thankfully only immersed in computer languages and not language-languages.
And yes, one of these days I really will have to learn IPA I suppose.
