It's actually a Wednesday! I think I get a bonus point!
Media is still happening, woo!
*I am continuing to read Middlegame. It is very good and very enjoyable and very intense, and I'm kinda impressed by how much I'm enjoying setting it down and taking breathes in between bits.
*I'm also working on reading The Enthusiast, which is the ComicCurmudgeon's book. It's neat!
*On like, Saturday night I rediscovered Rogue Legacy, which I pull out every once in a while and play obsessively for a few weeks then get bored of. I'm on my 75thish character, and having a very good time with it, and also kinda trying to manage to use it as ADHD incentive/time filler (games are pretty short, so it's pretty easy to say "I'll play until four" and have an actual stopping point around then).
*I'm watching through Series 11 of Taskmaster mostly by myself, but Tailsteak and I made it almost all the way through series 2 (I think tomorrow night we finish it and begin series 3!)
*Austin and I have seen through s01e07 of Leverage, Elishka and I have seen through s01e05 of Leverage, I am very happy about all of this.
*A couple weeks ago was Todd's birthday. Todd is in the extended bubble, so his party was having four of us hang out and play a _lot_ of video games. Notably, we played some Space Cadet Pinball, which people of a certain age are gonna be going YESSS to and everyone else is just gonna be like "?". To those people who know what I'm on about, did you know that the game has Quests?
*We also played (these are mostly not the correct names, because I can't remember and Todd collects humble bundle multiplayer games en masse):
**Competitive Tetris, which I was horrible at, but was pretty charming and I maybe could've been good at if I were to practice
**Stick fight brawling game, which everyone was terrible at, but I had a marked improvement in my abilities when Austin and I switched controllers so he could be blue (which his colourblind eyes could better distinguish) and I could be green (which it just my choice)
**Fabulous little hidden role video game-pack full of ninjas and assassins and knights and nobles and stuff where you do things like snipe each other and try to stab people
**Ultimate Chicken Horse (that is the actual name) which is a platformer in which all the players contribute to the building of platforms and/or hazards and then try to reach the goal but not have others reach the goal. I was _so bad_ at this game, but also fascinated because I've definitely played it before but have no idea when or where or if I was this terrible back then as well.
**And we ended it all off with "Overcooked but trains" which is to say a genuinely adorable and kinda soothing-stressful little cooperative game in which there is a train steadily moving forward and we have to frantically create track for it to continue on, lest it fall of the track and we lose. The four of us made a quite good team, and this was a very good way to wrap up the party, by ~working together~.
So yeah. There hasn't actually been a ton of media in my life --I guess I've been playing too much Heroes?--. Oh, there was a weird foray for a night or two of "let's read a bunch of random SCPs" which is always good times and I'm super into it, but also oh god there is so much of that wiki.
Or perhaps more accurately, I've been A Little Depressed, which means my brain hasn't been holding on as well to the things I've been mediaing, and also I've been doing more doomscrolling probably. I'm getting back into the habit of reading journals, at least (it's nice to do that over breakfast before leaving for work) but I'm not commenting well yet. We'll see.
