Ringing in heels that increase one's height is not uncommon. Some shoes are tall enough that people make jokes about someone wearing a box. Most of the ones I've seem are fairly chunky, though. I don't recall anybody wearing stilettos while ringing, but people do ring before or after formal occasions, so it might have happened. I would be worried about that kind of shoes on stairs, myself.
