I know what it's like to have an electronic device taken from you suddenly. My iPod Touch had a mishap with a washing machine =/. My Mom felt terrible even though it was both of our faults. I never gave it a proper name though it was always just "Dodger's iPod." Which is odd because I used to name everything when I was a kid. I had an umbrella named Hubert (In my defense, Hubert had a duck head handle.)
When I lost the iPod it kind of felt, in a weird way, like losing a friend. I definitely kind of mourned my iPod a little.
I dread the day when my Desktop goes kaput on me. It could honestly happen any day now seeing how the thing is 7 years old. I don't think I have anything on my desktop as precious as a diary though, just a lot of nostalgia potential. And you know how much I love my nostalgia ;-)
