My day did, in fact, suck less than yours - though sadly, it looks like that wasn't too hard.
(And: I hope at least some of the fury isn't self-directed. Forgetting to lock up is a human mistake; stealing a bike is wrong, illegal, and more toweringly rude than the word "rude" usually gets used for.)
