sorcyressHoliday wishes time! I'm going to intentionally not reread last years (or the year befores) posts, because then I will just copy those and not come up with anything interesting or new that I want. There are some rules to this game, but frankly, if you really care you can go over and look at 's journal. The basics are "what are ten things you want".
So, in no particular order, ten things I want right now. Obligatory disclaimer: You are never required to get me any present, for any reason. Ever.
1)To not get kicked out of my apartment. In a grander sense, this means "money, in a steady sort of way, for the next several months". I've hopefully gotten this one covered properly, what with the new job. Fingers crossed and shit. 2011-12-25: I think I've got this one covered? I hope?
2) Homestuck music. I frankly have no idea if you can buy music on Bandcamp for other people --maybe if you just put my e-mail address in the final field instead of yours?-- but if you can figure it out for me, this is what I want most of all right now. I like music, and this stuff is productive-making.
To be more specific, I have volumes 4 and 7. I want volume 5 most of all, followed byvolume 8 and volumes 1-4. So far, I like pretty much everything there I've listed to except Sburb, though. 2011-12-25: Thank you Sparr for volume 8. <3
3)An electric hand mixer, to aid in the creation of delicious edible things. I don't need a stand mixer level of fancy --just something small, where you can remove the beaters to clean them. It can even be the kind that plugs into the wall. 2011-12-25: OMG, mom totally got me one of these, HECK YES!
4) Secondhand My Little Ponies. It is very important to me that they are not new MLPs, because I am just going to do horrible things to their hair and paint them. I need at least three, plus however many it takes for me to practise on and learn what the hell I'm doing. 2011-12-25: I now have two. This is an _excellent_ start.
5) Support for my favourite webcartoonists. This can come in the form of reading their comics, of donating, of buying books and other cool things for me, or of buying cool things for yourself. (Or fanart, or other fanworks or cosplay or...) I should really make another updated list of comics I like, but the current standings are:
Person I most want you to give money to: Tailsteak, in that we have become friends somehow and he's a remarkably interesting and decent guy. Bonus points if you tell him your number one fan sent you. He writes a comic called Leftover Soup and wrote a very good novel called bang: an apocalypse. He is also the creator of top-five Sorcy favourite comic One Over Zero, which ended like eight years ago, (literally) but you should still read.
Person who I most want you to read the comic of: Andrew Hussie. He writes Homestuck, which you may have seen me mention *once or twice*. It's ridiculously long, convoluted, and interesting. I love it very much. Also, I really want all the pretty shiny pins he sells for his trolls and kids. I'm indifferent on the various clothing and the book. I will quite plausibly buy myself every single print he offers with Snowman on it, once I have money again (so, like June or something).
Person I most want you to buy me books/stuff from: Like, half of the Topataco Collective. I am especially jonsing for the second Questionable Content book (I have the first),the Oglaf book, all three Gunnerkrig Court books, and every single one of the Machine of Death card packs
Person I most want you to create fanworks for: I ship Dave/Demisexual!John really really hard. That's...about it. I don't tend to do a lot of 'shipping. I do love all the creativity surrounding the Homestuck fandom. It's the first time I've been in such an...active fandom. And you draw me _any_ fanart with Snowman in it, and I be happy. Especially if we're doing Pin-up Snowman.*drools forever*
2011-12-25: I gave Tailsteak money in the form of a copy of bang for Alys. People keep talking to me about how I got them hooked on Homestuck, slowly, so that's pretty great. jere7my got me the Oglaf book for my birthday, because he's awesome.
6) Because seriously, it has eaten my brain, I give you my third Homestuck related entry on the list. I realized recently I want a Senator Lemonsnout plushie. To be perfectly honest, I don't really care _which_ of Terezi's scalemates you get me a plushie of, but dammit, I think they're adorable, and the yellow's a really good shade (possibly beaten by the white-with-red-eyes one). And it's not like I don't already own way too many stuffed animals, sigh.
That being said, I know Hussie has stated that he doesn't want other people profiting off fanworks, which is _completely fair_ since, you know, his comic and all. So this is pretty much a "can you create one yourself" thing.

7) dSLR, or let's face it, any halfway decent digital camera that I can destroy. I am Sorcyress, killer of cameras. I'm so fucking serious about this title and I hate it. My theory behind wanting an dSLR is that I can't toss it into my pocket and therefore smash the fuck out of it when I inevitably run my legs into something. If that sounds like an unlikely event to you, it's how I lost my last two digital point and shoots. I really miss having a camera. The other day, I saw a bus, being pulled by an official MBTA tow truck. Holy hell guys, it was so cool! 2011-12-25: Well, I can't go back in time to get that tow truck pic, but I have a camera now! YAY! How long before you think I accidentally do something stupid with it while on my bicycle?
8) My scrawled wantlist that I've been keeping on my desktop has an item entitled "that flogger". I've either mentioned something more specific to you, or you're not welcome to buy me sex toys. 2011-12-25: Ohman, you guys, I have the best sir. The best.
9) To be over the whole rape/abuse thing. Seriously now, it's been _ages_. Shouldn't that just magically fade away given long enough? On the side of ways you can actually help, don't participate in rape culture. Don't tell rape jokes. Be aware of when consent is or is not given --not just regarding sex, but regarding life. Treat "no" appropriately. Don't be a jackass. You know, all that really fucking simple common sense nonsense.
10) Office supplies. I pretty much have a permanent lust in my heart for eighty-five percent of everything contained within Staples. Notebooks, good pens, index cards, and sharpies are my top wants. 2011-12-25: Well, they're all still pretty permanent wants, but my stocking had a ton of notebooks and mechanical pencils (seriously, like 50+ from Genni, which will tide me over pretty damn well. MERRY HOLIDAYS TO YOU EVERYONE!
I'm pretty sure this is much more materialist than other years. I don't actually care. My life is in shambles and everything has changed. I deserve something shiny to take my mind off it. :P
And of course, I am always interested in people getting me the big three of gifts: Books which you have written in, coming dancing with me, and buying me sushi.
