Regarding "boy-bits": Size only matters if he doesn't know how to use it. Talent and enthusiasm are far more important, though I admit my experience in this matter is rather limited.
The most important thing is that you have to actually like the person the bits are attached to enough to WANT to have sexytime with them.
The way I see it, if all you want is the bits, and the person is interchangeable, then you should buy some bits made of plastic in whatever size/shape/configuration you like. Much less messy that way.
