California boys
Apr. 16th, 2024 12:20 amI am in California, since I don't think I have mentioned that explicitly! I am visiting mek for the week, because I lurves him, and also because I am extremely fond of going to California and getting to see things like flowers and sunshine and other rarities we don't have in the Boston area.
We've been watching things, as is our wont. We're about halfway through watching Total Forgiveness, which is an honestly-pretty-upsetting Dropout show about "what would you do to get your student loans paid off". Some of these challenges you couldn't pay me enough. At least one of these challenges I would pay for the privilege of enjoying (the first one to get an L, actually). Capitalism sucks rocks, and I really hate that this country is such a fucking disaster.
We also watched an episode of Dungeon Meshi, with the hopes of seeing if I like it enough to watch fifteen more before the next one drops on Friday (?). It's not one hundred percent my thing, but it's close enough that I wanna watch more --I think all the parts that aren't clicking are just me not being acclimated enough to the cultural touchstones of anime so I don't quite recognize how it's supposed to be. i do definiel like he gu who reall loves monsers hough. ha's a ver cue wa o be.
Also my keyoard is broken again. It's been going on and off since he end of last summer --it was off for most of the winter but now it's decided to be a shithead again. I do not understand what is the difference between working and not. I find it interesting that it is consistent in its shittiness --I lose "t", "y", backspace, left-shift, tab, volume-up. That's all! Just those six keys! Anyways, the sentence that suddenly went wacky there was "I do definitely like the guy who really loves monsters though. That's a very cute way to be."
Yesterday we went on a long adventure to the grocery stores, and then today we took a lovely long walk to the local park and through the neighborhood. We met one really fun neighbor who does cement-work and invited us to come back anytime and join her in her casting, and admired some of her stuff. I also got to see so! many! flowers! which is one of the not-so-secret goals about visiting California, that by this point in the winter, I desperately need sunshine and flowers (as mentioned in my intro.)

We've also been playing a bunch of Plate Up, which I think we started fucking around with last time I visited. So far we have learned that hot dogs are bullshit.
Tomorrow we may go on an ~underground tour~ of Sacramento. I am pretty excited for this idea, I like exploring places, and middle of the week seems a perfect time to do that sort of thing. In the meantime, much lounging around and harasing the cats. Goodnight!
