Mar. 5th, 2021 12:34 amWEDNESDAY MEDIALOG:
*Ezri and I are pretty close to the end of Parks and Rec. We're well into season 6 -- [spoiler] and [spoiler] just had their last episode and I definitely teared up because all the goodbyes were very sweet and felt very accurate.
*I am trucking along with Middlegame! My handmade table of contents is up to three pages, and I'm probably close to halfway done. I have not _quite_ hit the "I can do nothing but read this book" moment, but I can tell it's coming.
*I played Animal Crossing! I played with mom and the gang which was lovely and social, and then I had some time this afternoon and played and did all my AC dailies for like the first four days of March (which was me getting the calendar back in sync since there's a lot of time travel in this household).
*I also go to play The Crew for the first time, with some really talented co-op players. I don't think I'm nearly ready to be playing at their level, but I am willing to try and we seem to be having fun as a group.
*I read a _major_ chunk of Comics Curmudgeon the other day, and I've now made it all the way to early 2015! Huzzah! Only...six more years to go! (technically a little less I suppose, since when I started deep-diving the archive, I also started reading actively the current stuff, and that means I only need to get to like...September 2020.
*I reread the entirety of the Mad Scientists Club, which is a _fine_ example of its genre (1950s boys adventure books) and surprisingly low in misogyny --oh sure, there are no girls, but they aren't constantly complaining about girls in general, so you know. That's the bar. Anyways, it's a very comforting nostalgia read and would be a fantastic book if it weren't a symptom of a patriarchy that favours White Men Above All Else. I would very much like more of this kind of adventure story, is what I'm saying, with science and engineering and goofing around and exasperating the mayor and clever solutions to problems, but also maybe with not just six white dudes.
*Tailsteak and I watched all of series 5 of Taskmaster! That was a lot of fun and he really enjoyed it, so I think we're going to watch another series sometime. Maybe 9? I want to rewatch Ed Gamble now that I've listened to him on the podcast a bunch, and Rose Matafeo is *chef kiss*
That's all for now. Goodnight!
