Aug. 23rd, 2020 01:49 amSo I did accomplish _some_ stuff. Probably not enough stuff. That is going to be how I feel literally every day, to be perfectly honest. At any rate though, let's check in!
*I filled all my milk crates with books. This also means I got every book off my bookshelf except for all the math ones, and the small handful of "too big for milk crates". I also put a very small number of games away.
*As part of filling milk crates with books, I emptied them of clothing1, which means I also did some sorting into "pack into storage" and "keep for the whole 'living in a hotel for a month' thing". The packable clothing is essentially in a rough pile right now instead of a box, because I figure this makes an excellent source of padding/cushioning for packing fragile things.
*Ezri and I entered The Closet which is full of storage stuff, and was surprisingly much less of a nightmare than I feared. I repacked a couple things (like the camping box) and recorded a bunch of stuff onto my spreadsheet, and now that's that. I am disappointed to find an entire plastic bin of crafty/sewing stuff because noooooo bad. I forgot that I had more than just what's in the drawers. If I am *really* impressive at culling, that large bin will be the only crafty stuff (hahahah no.)
*Also found the air mattress and inflated it to test and see if it'll be useful for the brief "living in our house but without furniture" period.
*Cleaned out the living room of everything that is mine except for tools and laptop charge-cable. Tools will happen more jointly with Ez, charge cable will obvs stick around with the laptop and doesn't need to be packed in the same way.
*Also I finally brought the clean blankets up from the basement, which you might remember from...uh...a week ago.
TOMORROW'S GOALS:
*The biggest goal is to pack up my stuff from the dining room. Dance stuff, bug stuff, DVDs, board games, etc.
*Also to figure out how to pack up all the LEGO and also to figure out if I accidentally have too much LEGO to fit in a single box. Note to self: Hack should go in the fireproof box2.
*Ugh, craft stuff. Like, aforementioned culling would be a really awesome thing (there are so many things that I should just admit I am never going to sew at any point ever) but it would also be good to just...actually pack up everything. Siiiigh!
*Also, the stated goal for tomorrow (on the incredibly optimized timeline) is to pack up for Hotel Adventures. I still want to do this as much as possible, although it's likely a lot of things I'd want to pack are things that need to do double duty of "having access to before we get to the hotel" and "at hotel".
I hate packing, and I own too much stuff and that makes me anxious but I'm also really bad about getting rid of stuff. Like, I'm actively trying and all, but you know. It's ~difficult~.
At least I've had like four different people offer me basement storage space for dealing with The Month At The Hotel, so like...if I need to take them up on that and have a lot of slogging around with boxen and the lezburu, I can do that. I've also had one offer of borrowing a car (!) which is probably not necessary or helpful for moving day, but was a very kind offer.
Slog slog slog through the packing. Please keep sending nice comments, they are helpful!

MOOP!
1: I own a lot of milk crates because instead of having a real grown-up dresser with drawers, I own a couple 2x4 expidites. Expidite cells are perfectly sized for milk crates, so that's what all my clothing typically lives in.
2: Also not a tomorrow goal, but I should really sit down with the fireproof box and optimize the contents.
