*So, I'm going to Pinewoods soon! Leaving Monday, back Saturday. Not that I really update this thing often enough for you lot to notice I'm gone, but yeah. No internet for a week will be wacky, and I will probably pull a Pants Bankrupt when I return.
*Riot Nrrd is my new favourite webcomic. It is a bunch of dorks, and Joss Whedon Puppy, and has a really good activist bend, which means I can read it without worrying that they'll say shit about my gender(s) or whatever --or if they do say shit, they'll be amenable to correcting themself. Currently, my favourite comic is this one.
On a related note, I totally want all the buttons. And I think Racheline would love the "Maddow is my Homegirl" t-shirt, but as far as I can tell, she doesn't wear t-shirts all that often. V. complicated.
*Genni and I went to a house today that we both fell in love with. Fingers crossed that Nurit will like it and it will not be too pricy and we'll be able to put in a washer/dryer, and the fabulous landlady will not rent it to someone else and we'll be able to find a suitable fourth person. Because it's the first apartment I've seen that I actively *wanted* to live in, sobad.
Also, cushiest staircase ever. I want to live there for that alone.
*Hung out with Magus for much of yesterday. We went to the science museum, which I think means that I have been to a science museum with all my boys, and the MoS with all but one. Fuck yes science museums.
We got to see a bunch of the images from the "What I Eat" photography project --a collection of portraits of people from around the world with their diet for the day. (I love that the MoS has a regularly circulating art wing.)
Followed him to Herbert's for dinner, which meant hanging out with a number of people, and drinking and chatting and flirting. And quiche. So all that was excellent.
*This is the best photo ever posted to the internet.
Except then it was revealed that All GOP candidates are Scooby Doo Villains, and that's *also* the best. So yeah, my roommate provides the awesome, is what I'm saying.
*This piece on how Harassment is non-negotiable makes me happy inside.
*I have been biking some, and in skirts a fair amount. Because I want to wear skirts and I don't see how my bike should stop that, that's why. Also I am out of shorts right now.
I love Blaise still. She is the nicest bike, and gets me all the places I want to go. Seriously, I've used the T twice since getting back --once to get from the bus terminal at South Station to the place I'm staying (NTS, inform Genni and Nurit that when we have a house it will have a name dammit), and once to get to and from the MoS with Magus. I would've biked that one if he had a bike with him.
OH! ALSO THERE ARE MORE DINOSAURS AT THE MoS! IT IS A SPECIAL EXHIBIT AND DINOSAURS! WHO WANTS TO GO LOOK AT THE WALKING T-REX MODEL THAT IS SO COOL AND ALSO TRICERATOPS EVERYWHERE?
*Speaking of bikes, This article is faboo. Biking is more patriotic than flag-waving, any day!
*In internet life, organizing people on G+ makes me happy. Also, 50+ message e-mail threads totally make me happy. Life is lovely!
*In gender, yesterday was stupid complex, and had me change from my pyjamas, to new really cute sundress, to binding bra and sundress kinda tucked around my waist in despair, to jeans and a t-shirt, to jeans that didn't smell, to curled up in a ball, to SUNDRESS DAMMIT. WITH A FLOWER IN MY HAIR AND EVERYTHING.
I looked quite lovely, and did not freak out after that. Some days it is stupid hard to figure out what gender I am though, and more importantly, whether or not I'm good enough to be that gender.
(Yes good enough. You do know that's half of why I started letting Erik out, right? Because I was not good enough to dress as a proper Regency lady, and so said "FUCK IT I'M A BOY". Of course, in modern era I have the problem where I don't look a thing like a boy, and so I kinda have to grind my gears a while and go "FUCK IT I'M A TOMBOY" (or occasionally a dyke). And that's just complicated, because usually I _want_ to read as casual boy and not tomboy, but it's hard to make the distinction without medical interference.
Or in other words, Erik dresses a lot nicer than I do, just so he can more clearly...if not pass, indicate that there's something going on.)
*In ponies, jere7my linked me to this My Little Pony game the other day. I played through the full thing, which made me very proud of myself.
Please tell me what you think of it.
Annnnd that's all I got. Tomorrow is another house to look at, doing laundry, and packing for Pinewoods. Wheeee!
