Sounds fun! I don't know distances up your way but there are some nice small parks in the Northeast. Canobie Lake (Salem, NH), Lake Compounce (Bristol, CT), Quassey (Middleburg, CT), Playland (Rye, NY), and Funtown Splashtown (Saco, ME). I've been to all of these and they were fun.
