Apr. 5th, 2024 09:09 pmI worked like horses the last few days, trying to get everything ready, and I genuinely think I have managed it. I successfully wrote a _truly hideous_ emoji-laden overly-horny chain letter1 as a birthday present for my sister. I prepped for two consecutive days off from work a thing I have never before done in my life. I studied and successfully rang some superlative2. I packed bag. I didn't have DnD but I did get a fun preview of Scoop's thesis defense (which I will try and sneaky go to on zoom instead of my next department meeting maybe). I graded everything and returned it in time for students to redo things and then graded the things they redid. And then submitted grades! With seventy hours to spare!
And now I have several days in a row with absolutely fuckall planned except to read books, hang out with friends, and maybe watch the astronomy do some cool shit. It's a weird feeling, being ~all caught up~ at work, because it only happens like once or twice a year if that, and honestly, most of those times are in June.
Anyways, I got to spend five hours in a car with an ex-housemate, which was actually great, because it turns out I do like some of the people I have lived with in the past, and it was keen to catch up with each other and it was extra keen to be able to swap teacher goss, because no one knows my pain like other teachers. I am fabulously jealous that her beautiful new school building is *not* useless and poorly designed.
That's about all I've got. Probably not going to be posting abundantly over the next few days. Maybe if yinz're very lucky I will draw pictures or whatever and post those at some point.

1: IYKYK, by which I mean, some people have heard of these horny-emoji-chain-letter texts and some have not but I can't really describe it in any way that makes it sound less stupid if you're one of the ones who hasn't. They're real stupid. And so fucking funny. I am ecstatic every time Alys sends me a new one, and so obvs I had to craft one all bespoke for her.
2: damn good thing it was successful because, as mentioned, I couldn't ring anything else for spit. Someday I should probably actually learn the calls for stedman trips, because like, I definitely know them, until any time someone makes a call during stedtrips and I have to be like "lol, no thank you". I mean, I've quartered it for fucks sakes, why can I not otherwise retain this information?
