It was April Fool's Day! I had a very good April Fool's Day! This is not some sort of April Fooling, I just genuinely had a really charming and good day, in a way that makes me vaguely hopeful that the world could be Not Terrible Someday Maybe.

(I've been struggling a lot on an existential level lately, about how the world is pretty terrible right now, and it's getting me hella down. It's boring to talk about, so I won't go into further detail.)

The day seemed on its surface pretty normal. Late last night, I happened to be awake at exactly the right time to be one of the first people to experience the Grundos.Cafe april fools day prank. It was a merry sort of time on the Discord as people rolled through and shared data about what was happening, and some laughs. I went to bed Too Damn Late, and slept a few hours before bells.

Bells was absolutely lovely, with a big practice and several levels of beginners. We got in a lovely wide range of methods though --everything from basic handling practice to the secret unnamed method we've been working on collectively. I delegated effectively, and feel like everyone got some practice at what they needed.

Despite the drizzle, we went for post-bells-lunch, and lurked outside the public market, hanging out under the awning to avoid the rain. It was a nice conversation and crowd, and I learned Todd's never heard of the St. Louis City Museum. We are absolutely going to go sometime, because the conversation was inspired by "wait, can I climb this building?" and this is My Jam.

Went home on the T with Todd and Kyle and Rachel, and many good conversation as we drifted to our respective stops. It is so lovely to have friends who I get to see every week! Once I parted ways from Kyle (who shares a t-stop with me), I snapped open my book and read on my way home. This included settling into a porch chair to finish, because for once it was warm enough to actually be able to do that, sit outside and read.

(allegations that all my feelings of today being a good day are predicated on it being warmer than 40 degrees are likely entirely accurate)

Finished Squire, went inside and picked up Lady Knight. Ezri and Rey were out, which meant I could drape myself into a sunbeam on the good couch and just read like my joy depended on it. I finished Lady Knight, had a good nap, and spent the rest of the evening reading true crime articles and contemplating the weirdness of being interested in tragic events that ruin people's lives.

Now it is very late and I am tired. Tomorrow is more bells, and finding a ride to demo team somehow (my usual ride is unavailable). Maybe I will cap things off tomorrow with BIDA? That would be nice!

Goodnight!
