So, shtuff.

Just recently got back from the Coffeehouse. It was quite enjoyable -several very loud rocktype bands (With drummers...drool!) and whatnot. I love live rockymusic, it's *fun*.

Also got to preform my monologue of alliterative doom for the second time, in front of a bigger audience, and one less inclined to naturally like me. I preformed offmike, which was good of me, and apparently had forgotten that I *really* like acting. Sigh.

Alsoalso...I'm out. Nowait, I know! Look at what I made in school today!!

(((And you get some *strange* looks when you carry a dodecahedron twice as big as your head around school. It was fun!)))

Alsoalsoalso, I am getting Much better at braiding peoples hair. That there is a fourstrand braid I did on Becky. Is it not excellent?

Yeah, now I'm really out. More babblings later, I suppose.

DUDE! That's like MY SHAPE! Dodecahedron! although, technically, at this point in my life, it's the basic stellar dodecahedron, but, well, hey, that's fairly stellar isn't it!

(It's even encorporated into my logo, man! You have no idea how much I identify with dodecahedrons and how cool they are!)

Uhhhhhh....wowwwww...That's...really quite strange.

See, dodecahedrons have always meant a lot to my dad and his college roommate. They heavily affect travel, and while making one can be very lucky, destroying one is a really really bad thing.

So...wowwwww. That's a weird example of flux.

I'm sorry, I didn't see right away. I'm female, 20, and I just gatduared from college BS Computer Science, I love programming. I'm also interested in writing and photography. I read lots of books of all genre. I'm an advocate of people with disabilities. (I can't think of anything else at the moment, I hope this will do. :})

What great news!!! I hope the dentist trip went well. And...I can truly artele to the dinner table. Sam completed a 12 week feeding program through his speech therapist this summer so we could get him to eat more foods and to be at the table with us a little longer. She gave us great language and things to use when it came to food throwing and such. I can share with you later if you want. But...the real point is the joy you get when you see your boys eating a meal together, and I am happy for you that you experienced it. May you have many more!

a few things.regarding gednerqueer/trans issues: perhaps you can count up all the bio (maybe even straight) males and then put everyone else together in an other category, instead of forcing them to pick female. i prefer not to have to pick between one of the two standard genders, but i definitely don't fit under bio male. second, i really appreciate what you're doing. it is incredibly difficult to get people to be aware of their prejudices. often, i notice that people think they are not being prejudiced or discriminatory just by keeping the status quo. however, i think the status quo tends toward prejudice. to truly challenge this, we must act to change things. i'm glad to see you call out specific methods for changing behavior in the OSS community perhaps you could add some more questions that individuals could ask themselves to reveal their prejudices? not easy, i know but perhaps worth looking into for future presentations where you have more time.as many of the posters have pointed out, there is a definitely a ton of posturing going on. i work in IT (there are NO women programmers at my company) and i've been in grad school for cognitive science. the amount of work i've needed to do just to prove that yes i can and do understand what's going on .well it's truly a waste of everyone's time. i'm not sure how to change this general attitude other than to make people more aware of it when they do it and to constantly challenge their prejudices by bringing more minorities/women/etc into the technology fold.finally, i wish all my coworkers and all schools would read through this and try to understand it. that would be a major success in promoting some level of awareness. at least this is out there now and hopefully more and more people will stumble upon it, as i have.

I love it, though I'd go a step fheturr and just remove the dwellings from the flood plain. I'm sure if we went backwards in time, we'd find that people did indeed build their houses on the hills and farmed the plains.
