SUPERMOON ECLIPSE!
So look, here's the deal: I'm not ShadowCaptain. He is a unique and wonderful dude, and I miss his presence on elljay more than most. The rants! The Shakespeare! The funny! The pictures of the moon!
...Well.
I'm not particularly good at ranting, and while I can be funny, it's not always consistent, and really, it's astounding how low-level I am when it comes to Shakespeare nerdery. But I did go out and see an eclipse tonight. And I did take some pictures of the moon.
He hasn't posted on LJ since 2009. Facebook is simply not the same. So, for Shadowcap, and for all the rest of you.
Supermoon Eclipse:

I made plans with
jere7my and Molly to go see the Eclipse. We agreed to meet at Danehy park, up on the hill.

This turned out to be exactly the right plan. The moon was bright and clear, and there were a number of cheerful people around. Not a cloud in the sky!

We ate cookies, and chatted about life the universe and everything, and watched as Fenris ate his way through Lady Luna.

As she turned a terrible red, my camera stopped being able to take particularly sharp photos. But it was breathtaking just to look, too, and admire, and remember that the universe is a big and beautiful place, full of exquisite things.

May you all have nights where you can curl up with friends and watch something exquisite happen. May I have more of them.

Goodnight, Moon.
