Prepwork for the Ball

It occurs to me that if I'm going to host a ball, I need music. So, while I can pull all manner of interesting thing to go thumpy-thump ravedance to, I have a more pressing concern:

What are some songs that are good and interesting to dance to?

By songs, I mean stuff I'm likely to have. By good and interesting, I mean...um...good, and interesting. By dance, I mean one-steps, foxtrots, polkas, tangos, schottish, swing, and, of course, waltzes of multiple speeds.

I'm actually a bit less keen on waltzes right now (though I'm always looking for more songs to add into that playlist, even as it becomes more than three hours long --variety is good!) as I have loads of them --I'm looking more as to what songs I should toss into my playlist as non-waltz dances.

Thanks and all!

There may be some stuff here (http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/browse.php), although the sound quality will be poor and it'll be all scratchy and stuff.

Rose will know some swing stuff. Don't know anything else for you, sorry.
