Eh. I have the more recent prescription pair that I originally stopped wearing because they don't fit right and I think the prescription is very slightly *wrong* (Seriously, it sucks).
If I get desperate, I also have the other pair from the same prescription as the blue ones, but they're wire framed and therefore not as charmingly emo as I've been using for...oh...the past four years now or so. (Plastic frames ftw)
And Magus, dahling. Cellophane is so last season! I have some lovely black electrical tape, just here...
Actually, I've just remembered this one... Back in college, a friend repaired my plastic-framed glasses with a soldering iron. Might be worth trying if your other options don't pan out. Do this in a well-ventilated area.
Whoops! I hate it when that happens. Honestly, I have had this happen.
If your prescription is new enough, perhaps the same store cane find you another copy of those frames. Otherwise, there is a guy in Rockville who fixes glasses. That's all he does. "The Eyeglass Mender" IIRC, or at least some business name like that. Much cheaper than buying new glasses. Unless, of course, you were due to replace them anyhow, in which case, it is just Murphy reminding you to take care of that task.

I'm going to be incredibly amused if you follow this up with a report that you "repaired" it with cellophane tape.

Taped Glasses
(Not that I've ever used tape to repair my glasses. Oh no, not me.)

you can alternate monocles, change how you perceive the world.

Good eyes are too valuable to hide behind all-too-friable glasses.
