Okay, every good thing you've heard about Portal?

IT IS ALL TRUE! HOLY SHIT I NEED THIS GAME! HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT!

There are portals! And momentum! And the greatest physics engine I have ever seen! And cake! And accurate infinite mirrors* effects! And HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT!

Man, I just do not *get* enthused about video games (except for RockBand) But this is SO PRETTY (it really is just simply gorgeous) and it's clever and neat and a huge elaborate visual/spatial logic puzzle and CAKE and Jonathan Coulton did the music and just...yeah!

Can I have it? Please? Pleeeease?

(Seriously, I was this close to calling Nik and being all "Nik? I am buying you this. You are not allowed to play it except when I'm watching, until I've watched you beat it. Then you can play it as much as you want." I still might. It'll be his birthday present or something.)

Yep. It is glorious, and I haven't even played it yet, I've just watched Dave. *drools and lusts*

Yeah, I need to get that game as well.I've only played the flash version, which is pretty neat, but there's no plot or underlying story.

Question? Do you know how much space I am referring to when I say my beads? I could fit a PS3 and a copy of The Orange Box into the briefcase that holds *most* of my beads with room to spare.

(And the clear goal here is to just spend all my time at someone elses house to play it)

Anyway, you can get this online with Steam for 20 bucks, although it may not work for a Mac because Macs suck.

Be advised that Portal is like whoah short, so if you don't like the idea of paying 20 bucks for like 5 hours of game (yeah), go borrow it from somebody else. It shouldn't be hard. You're in college, I'll bet at least 9 of the 12 people living closest to you have it, or know someone else who does. And luckily for you, everybody not only loves Portal, but wants other people to share that love.

I'll put go ahead and put "weighted companion cube" on your list of "Things I want for [gift-giving occasion]".

I don't care that it's woahshort! Plus, I'm bad at video games, so it'll take me longer.

Probably one the best games I have played in a long while, and the cussing is terrific (mine) but I lurved the puzzles.
