Never heard of The Linguini Incident; my first guess was that it was Calvin and Hobbes related. A quick check shows that the Noodle Incident was in December of 1990 and that the Linguini Incident came out in May of 1991, so likely neither one's name inspired the other. Apparently [Italian food] Incident is inherently funny sounding?
