Turns out it's true! They very deliberately went for a Pat Benatar / The Cars sound in the recording.
My mood takes a noticeable upswing when it plays
... yeah. I've noticed this myself. It's kinda neat, in a way that makes me suspicious/nervous and that I can't quite explain.
