The boy offered to be my hug pimp today (his words) and try to get ahold of you to give me a hug. (I never know what to call him here because I know you know him by his real name, but he doesn't like it used on the internet, so...)

I told him I did not want a hug pimp. Also I thought if somebody gave me a big long hug I'd probably burst into tears.

But I may be back for one of these a little bit later. Or track you down tomorrow to give you an in-person hug if you'd like one.

OK, I see ljdragon hasn't posted this yet, so I'll sneak in and beat her to the punch.

Yesterday my flatmate (who'd been constantly fighting to get to lead at our local uni dance club) got an email back from Ceroc Wellington basically saying that she couldn't lead for one of their workshops. And she was pretty bummed. So when we went to a lesson held in Christchurch by Ceroc I was half-expecting them to be all "sorry you can't lead bai". But when she asked them about it, not only did they say she was welcome to lead, they gave her an "Official Leader" badge.

Also, it turns out that I can modify the method used by Wu et al. by adding a fluoride-containing salt, and I get a product out at the end of it. This means that of the two methods I've tried in the last month or so for synthesis of titania, both produce stuff when modified!

I'm not sure how I managed to walk from one side of the camp to the other that night. These days, help can be a few steps away, more familiar, and I won't reach out. I can be surrounded by people, yet feel so cut off. Around me, they interact so easily, connecting both emotionally and physically in ways I can only dream of. Sometimes, I think I drive the;m away, that they can sense this unease in me, passing me by when giving everyone else affection, making plans the likes of which I wish I could make. How can I be like them? How can I be more human?
