ARG! Stupid nipple pointer on my laptop... I just accidentally clicked something and lost several well thought out paragraphs.
In TOTAL SHORT:
I wasn't there, of course. But the "maybe a nice guy is needed" comment sounds more like self serving attention-grabs than it does sexism, to me. It sounds more like he, as a feminist, was doing what he could to be part of the solution, not part of the problem... Perhaps he was just saying "I'm a nice guy, and I'm doing what I can." ...Misguided as it may be, I don't think it was as sinister. Badly placed in the middle of some ignorance; Sure.
