Re: mental aftereffects of abortion: Not necessarily. Some (heavy emphasis on the some - definitely not most, and very probably far less than half) of those who've undergone an abortion have managed to deal with it without a great deal of trouble or trauma. Everything I've come to understand suggests that that's a fairly uncommon occurrence, though, yes.
