sorcyress: Drawing of me as a pirate, standing in front of the Boston Citgo sign (Default)

Stalk and a haircut (two bits)?

On a stalk-tastic whim, I went poking around and found a friends blag from nearly six years ago. I am officially fascinated.

What did you lots old blags look like? Have you just been on elljay forever? I know my mom has, I believe I've read all her old entries, but not recently.

How about stylistic differences? My 2004 era entries sound *very* differently from 2006, and even the last year or so has changed somewhat in tone. One of the things I was doing on Seren was rereading through my entire livejournal and keeping a list of "interesting posts". Why I didn't do this sensibly, say, by tagging things, I don't know. I think it has something to do with Sorcy being stupid.

Sorry, did I go computerbitter? Oops.

Anyways. Where's your old writin's? I promise I'm not *much* of a stalker. *fg*

MOOP!

(Disclaimer: I'm actually really not much of a stalker. I like learning things about people, because it entertains me, but I'm not generally that good at looking them up for my own.)

I didn't really have a "blog" before LJ, but I did have a free webpage on angelfire (that Angelfire decided to delete earlier this year). Still, you can see some of what it looked like on the internet wayback machine:

An archive of my letters to the extended family (http://web.archive.org/web/20050310203432/http://www.angelfire.com/nh/dantaylor/faod/contents.html)
The Main Page (http://web.archive.org/web/20050209100746/www.angelfire.com/nh/dantaylor/)
closest thing to a blog: a list of Rants. (http://web.archive.org/web/20050208160634/www.angelfire.com/nh/dantaylor/rants/main.html)

Oof, so embarrassing. How 1990's-tastic.

I've been on LJ since christmas of '03 (read; since I was fifteen and a sophomore in highschool), and HOLY SHIT have my entries changed. It's a bit like the book Catherine Called Birdie, if you've ever read it. If you haven't, do. It'll take you all of an afternoon, I promise. Very quick, but very good. You're welcome to go back and read whatever you like.

feel free to read my old entries. they go back to about junior year in highschool, a bit before i met you at wyo and had you as an eljay friend.

i do have a xanga, but even i don't like reading those entries. they are from like sophomore year of highschool through junior year. that was my depressed stage of my life not to mention a really scary crush i had on this guy brian. so don't go looking up my xanga, but feel free to read all of my LJ entries.

miss you!!!!

Rar. I've been on here since 2002 and although I had a blogger blog for a bit (I believe for image hosting...no idea what I was thinking about) I've never really wandered outside of elljay. I would if I'd set up my own site, but that would require domain registration and hosting, and that would cost money.

Pretty much just elljay for me too.. November 2003, looks like, is when peer pressure in sluggysquad talked me into creating one... din't really do much posting way back then, but you are more than welcome to peruse.

. o O (i do have some pages of a handwritten journal scanned in somewhere (i had done this way back in '01 to send to W back when we were merely digital hypertwins) if you are interested in those... i don't even remember what was in it beyond possibly a dream in specific that i wanted him to read about.. and even that i'm not sure of..)

By the time I got to LJ in early 04 my writing voice has long since been well-formed, so I sound pretty much the same. In the last couple of years, I've cut down on memes and links and fluff. (I know when that transition happened, and why.)

Lately, I have arrived at the conclusion that if I don't blog something upsetting, it will upset me to reread it, so maybe I shouldn't unless I can be funny or cathartic about it. I'm not sure that's affected my style yet in a way that's visible.

I worry that I post less than I used to, but I never have posted what I'd consider a lot.
