Thrift Store Bounty
So, while mek was here, we went thrift storing!
This first picture has nothing to do with going thrift store and everything to do with me being comprised totally of sex and win. If I could get my RockBand charecter to dress like this, I would. (Speaking of which, is it wrong to want to cosplay as your RockBand character? No? Good.)
I look like a goth ringmaster. But I look like a HOT goth ringmaster. See, I got a Hot Topic gift card for christmas, and I was planning to just spend it on silly frivols (after spending a good chunk of time staring at the fingerless gloves with switchblades on them) or a Sweeney Todd shirt or something, but then I found the corset on the clearence rack.
Cost about seventeen dollars total. TOTALLY worth it.
The rest of this is actual thrift store (and Ross) bounty.
OHMAN! mek, Magus, and I went on a Grand Adventure to attempt to find Magus a black vest. We were ultimately unsuccessful, but both Magus and mek managed to find at least one tie worth owning, and I found these.
The skirt was picked up at the Goodwill at the corner of 175 and Route One and is made of AWESOME! It has POCKETS! I. Shit. You. Not.
Picture turned out dark, but you can see some of the intensely bright colours. Eee, skirt!
As for the blouse...we were wandering around Ross when mek came up to me and shoved it in my hands. "You need this" he said (or something to that effect) and I was compelled to agree. Because it looks like the cover of the Assassins (original cast) album. I mean, the stars aren't in crayon, but besides that...it's perfect.
My smile is moderately demonic in that picture. BUT YES! Assassins blouse! Man, this was almost *better* than finding Sweeney Todd merchandise in the mall, plus it actually HAPPENED!
Earlier in the thrift storing (when I found my excellent hat) we went to my favourite thrift store, which is one of the many on Route One. I went browsing through the womens long dresses, because I *always* look for dresses that could easily be turned into piratecoats (my traditional black piratecoat AND my technicolour nightmare coat have both been found that way)
And I found this:
Never let it be said that flipping through a bunch of frumpy dresses doesn't ocassionally pay off.
In other news, the "Camwhoring" set of pictures in my flickr account actually has some pretty damn good pictures of me.
