As a complete aside, I'm disabling my crossposting between Dreamwidth and livejournal. It does not work consistently enough to be useful, and so I'm just going to manually crosspost instead. I am really not happy about this decision, but I'm tired of the majority of my meager following not getting to read my posts.

It is a guess, and only a guess, that yesterday's contested election in Russia has brought another round of government-sponsored DDoS attacks on LJ, which is a significant channel for political dissent over there. I'm having trouble loading LJ as well.

I should have expected that; all indications are that the election was not merely "contested" but "flagrantly rigged"; odd, since it's not clear that United Russia was in any danger of losing a fair election, but there you go.

I tend to read my LJ friends list and my DW reading page in immediate succession, and I've never noticed crossposts having troubles, except when LJ was having larger issues.

Right, my take has always been that if there are crossposting issues, it's not been any fault on DW's part, but because of connectivity issues with LJ.
