Oh
My
Fucking
God.
OH.
MY.
FUCKING.
GOD.
Just got back from my first ever World/Inferno Friendship Society concert. As God, The Mother, and Eris, are my witnesses, it Will Not Be My Last.
Seriously. My knees ache (and are probably bruised to all hell) my ears have been ringing for the last two hours (pretty much), I am literally covered in sweat (not all of it mine) and I have just had the most fucking amazing time of my life.
(I also learned that I can hold my own against the crowd if I need to. I was dead up against the stage the entire fucking show, and no one managed to squeeze me back for longer than maybe thirty seconds. For the last two songs and the encore, I was fucking *on* the stage.)
Oh, and by the way, to whom it may concern? They played Only Anarchists Are Pretty. As part of the encore. My very first W/IFS concert played my very first W/IFS song. Technically, what happened was Jack (omgJack) asked for requests from the audience for their second encore song. Much shouting occured. He offered the mic to the boy right next to me, who had no doubt heard me screaming my throat raw shouting "Only anarchists are pretty!" over and over again, and who gave that as his request.
I seriously kissed him, I was so happy.
And for the last waltz, I wound up offering my hand to this cute girl perched on the edge of the stage, she stood and dragged me up onstage with her, we wound up standing on the box just in front of center stage, semi-waltzing together. Ohmygod, yes. Yessss.
Also, for what it's worth, there was an entire damn song where Jack's crotch was within two feet of my head the entire time. Before going into this concert, I would not have found that particularly amazing, but that man has such a PRESENCE that I'm pretty sure he's now on my do-now list.
AS IS Sandra Malak. With the dreads, and the bass, and the I could fucking reach out and touch her the entire damn show ohmygodohmygod yeah.
Soo...uhh...yeah.
Setlist was (according to the sheet I picked up off the ground, YES I AM THAT STALKTASTICALLY GOOD!)
Tattoos Fade
Fiend (?)
Peter Lorre
Zen and the Art of Breaking Everything in the Room
Me.U.(?)
-M-
Cathy Catherine
Brother of the Mayor of Bridgewater
Good Criminal Heart
Everybody's Coming to Rick's
Mad Monkettes
Thumb Cinema (!!!YES!)
Your Younger Man
Addicted to Bad Ideas (!!! SHIT YES!)
Waltz (Heartattack 64, I think)
And then they played Ich Erinnere Mich An Die Weimarer Republik. And then they left the stage, and then they came back for encore --played something I didn't really recognize, ONLY ANARCHISTS ARE PRETTY OMGPONIES YAY!, and ended the night with So Long to the Circus, as they should
And if I keep writing this entry, it will just continue to meander.
So yes! Between spending the day with the elljayless Alex, going to the beach, spending an hour talking games with random people at Pandemonium, and zohmgar World Inferno, this has just about been one of the Best Days Ever.
Evvvver!

on 2008-11-09 07:26 am (UTC)And I personally think every show should finish with the heart attack waltz, but that's just me.
Or pumpkin time, if it's Halloween.

on 2008-11-09 08:22 am (UTC)Kat! I'm surprised at you. I wouldn't think you were the exhibitionist sort.
Finding a setlist on the floor after a show is not an unusual occurrence, I don't think. So you're just stalktastically average, in this instance.
