I am slowly trying to get rid of things, mostly because I have *way* too many things, and I don't want to move them all next time I move.

Luckily there is a clothing swap this afternoon, so I will bring over a bag of things to try and get rid of them to friends. If they don't go to friends, they will go to goodwill (or more accurately, the local library clothing sale) and that is a good thing.

Two notable things in the pile I am getting rid of today. Firstly that, for the first time since approximately freshman year of high school, I will not own a trenchcoat. Part of me is flailing madly at the very thought, but the more rational part of me is aware that I did not wear them at all this winter, and I hardly wore them last winter. Trenchcoats are non-optimal for bike riding. My big wool peacoat is very optimal for non-bike wandering in Boston. Ergo...

Secondly, I am getting rid of ALL THE PANTS WITH HOLES IN THEM that I never wear. This is partly based on the fact that my ripped up jeans have become increasingly shitty and unwearable, and partly because my "good" jeans have gotten a hole in them. So the good jeans are now the ripped up jeans (and I will draw on them), and I will have to find new good jeans at some point, for the rare occasion where it is expected to wear jeans, but they can't have things written on them.

So yeah. Getting rid of things. Tell your friends. (No probably don't, that would be weird, but I may eventually make a post of _things_ that I could live without in my life.)
