Can I just say? I love Privilege Denying Dude0. Love. It is far and away my favourite meme since like...fuck, I don't know, everything. I am a huge fan of snark-humour, and snark-humour being aimed against those who deny their privilege is about the most delicious snark-humour there is1!
And man, the caption for this one was even better, because it gets across exactly what I think whenever my limiting-my-vocabulary-in-order-to-be-less-cruel finds new words I have to exorcise. Namely:
That teacher is soretardedunfair/mean/difficult.
This game is reallylameboring/confusing/easy.
That essay was reallygaypointless/tedious/long.
There are lots of ways to describe something you don’t like without using slurs. No, really, there are.
And while I'm still working out the proper terms for crazy (wacky, weird, ridiculous, overwhelming...) and idiot/moron (jerk, dumbass...and then my brain chimes in "moron. No, shit, idiot. No, shit, uh...", so I definitely need help with this one) I'm sure they exist!
See, fixing my language isn't just fun because it makes me less likely to hurt other people. It's also a fun vocabulary challenge, and I'm a word-dork. I *live* for fun vocabulary challenges! Puzzles are a good thing in the world, and I like to solve them.
Unrelated to anything except etymologies, I'm now officially a geek in the bites-heads-off-birds sense. You can ask Herbert about it, it was delicious! HOMF HOMF HOMF WANT MORE BIRDS MADE BY HANNAH!2

MOOP!
0: If you are not familiar with Privilege Denying Dude, basically it is a meme in which an image of a smug looking privileged person (generally that specific dude, but sometimes there is a woman, or individuals in the news who have been showing their privilege lately) is overlaid with text that can charitably be described as "assholeish". Trigger warning for (snarkily done) homophobia, rape culture, misogyny, racism, ablism, transphobia, fat hatred, classism, religious intolerance and basically every other category in which there are the privileged and the less so. I alternate between sputtering at my screen at the fact that yes, this is a thing people think and say and laughing in self-schadenfreude because yes this is a thing people think and my only other choice is to sputter hopelessly.
1: Followed closely by "terrible fanfiction or professional writing snark, a la My Immortal or Twilight." Oo, burn.
2: You should come to SCD. This is because there is a fabulous woman named Hannah who comes most weeks, and most every time she attends, she brings a cake. And we are not talking simple from a box cake. We are talking THIS IS MADE OF LOVE AND MAGIC cake.
